We hope this is because you’ve found a lost animal and the rabies tag with our QR code on the back of the tag was the only ID on an otherwise healthy and happy misplaced animal. If you call or text us at 719-657-7076 and give us the rabies tag number (accurately!), we can search our system and contact the person who owned the animal when it was vaccinated and let them know where their pet is now.
Another possibility is that this animal is also microchipped, and you could take it to a vet office, rescue, or shelter to have it scanned and report it found. The microchip entries can be updated by the owner when they re-home a pet or move, so that information is potentially a better way to find the owner.
